Start an experiment

Open Kitchen, choose one of the five chapters, and follow the scene, interactive comparison, evidence, and reflection steps. The core lessons work offline. Simulations and labeled samples are learning examples, not measurements of your ingredients. Progress and your journal stay on this device.

Camera or photo import

Choose the label-photo action when you want to capture packaging. Allow camera access only if you want to use it. If the camera is unavailable or access is denied, use the system photo picker, a clearly labeled sample, or manual ingredient text. To change access, open iOS Settings and select Supper Lab. Crop or cover private details before saving a label image.

Ingredient text and allergens

Use a sharp, well-lit photo and check every recognized word against the original label. You can correct text manually before confirming it. Highlights show possible allergen words only. They cannot guarantee that food is safe or allergen-free. When uncertain, do not use or serve the ingredient.

Record and play sound

Open Listen to the reaction and allow microphone access when requested. Record bubbling or stirring for up to 30 seconds, then stop and review it before saving. A very short or silent recording may not provide useful evidence; record again or write an observation. If interrupted by a call or audio-route change, review any preserved recording before continuing. Sound markers describe time or volume; they do not assess food safety.

Save, resume, and edit

A record is saved only after local storage succeeds. If saving fails, keep the current unfinished record, check available device storage, and retry. Use Journal to reopen saved records or continue available unfinished records. An incomplete reflection can remain an unfinished record rather than being counted as completed learning. If an attachment is missing, retain the text record and add replacement evidence or a manual note.

Export and delete

Use Export my data in Settings or the record’s export action to create a local export. It may contain personal images or sounds; review the destination before sharing. Delete a journal entry to remove that record and its associated app files. Delete my data in Settings clears local progress and files. Exports, shared copies, and device backups are not removed by in-app deletion. Back up anything you want to keep before deleting or uninstalling.

Accessibility and audio

Use iOS text-size, VoiceOver, and Reduce Motion settings as needed. Tap controls provide alternatives to drag gestures. The app uses one fixed light appearance and English interface. User-entered notes and original media are kept as supplied. Device and system controls may use your iOS language.

Offline and policy pages

The experiments, saved journal, and local media do not require an account or internet connection. Policy and support URLs need internet access; if the app offers a bundled offline copy, it may be read without a network request. Retry a hosted page after checking your connection.

Report an issue

Include the app version, iPhone model, iOS version, the steps you took, and the message you saw. Do not send private photos, recordings, medical details, or passwords unless necessary. Unverified publishing contact: supperlab@support.com. This address is not verified as monitored; the publisher must replace it with a working support channel before release. No response-time commitment is made for the unverified publishing contact.

Safety first

Supper Lab is for learning, not diagnosis or food-safety decisions. Use food-safe materials. Do not taste unknown mixtures, heat materials unsafely, or seal gas-producing experiments. An adult handles heat and sharp tools. For allergy or food-safety questions, consult qualified sources; for emergencies, contact local emergency services.
